Yes - I got the script last week. No - I have not filled it yet. Everyday I think it will just get better. But, it really has not. Plus, he is not doing any better on the potty. I decided to fill it using the generic version, which had to be ordered (well, so did the Zofran). It will be ready today, just have to go and pick it up.
I spoke to the pharmacist, and she said she would not be able to know if my insurance would even cover the Rx until she filled it. But, she said that with no insurance, it is about $27 A PILL!
I figured, why take the chance and not want to fill it if my insurance does not pay for it. I take generics all the time. And if this one does not work, then maybe I will try the name brand.
I have also tried to find peppermint oil - nope, can't find that. I tried sucking on peppermint lifesavers - that did not work either.
So, I am hoping this is the miracle drug
I really hope the Zofran works for you. My husband used it a few years ago and it was the only thing that worked for him. Thank God for insurance! It's apparently THE drug for chemo nausea. Hope it helps!
ReplyDeleteI took zofran toward the end of my pregnancy with the twins and it is a miracle drug! There was not a generic at the time and it was $50 approx per pill at the time but thankfully it was covered on insurance- it was 90 pills (4mg) for $24- not bad if you ask me!!
ReplyDeleteHope it does the trick for you!!
