They even have the same feet
Look at the girls' feet in the first picture - they girls even have the same feet. I think they look very different, but of course in pics they look very similar.
The order is not the same in all the pics lol

Elsie passed her carseat test :)
We had Elsie's follow-up carseat test today. And, she PASSED. After failing the initial test two times, we were concerned that she would fail again. especially since her hands were turning purple when sitting up (which only stopped about a week ago)
We were able to go back to our local hospital, where she was tested in an extra room - think is was the lactation room. She could not go back in the newborn nursery..too germy lol.
I am just thrilled to get rid of the carbed. It is so much easier to get out of the house without having to physically carry both girls. I celebrated by going out alone with all 3 little ones.
We took a pic of the carbed when we went to her first ped appointment, so is SO much bigger now, 4 weeks later.

Cousins meet :)
The newest cousins met for the first time today. My mom was thrilled to have all her babies in one place.
You can see the joy in her face.
Not sure what is so funny in the first pic, guess I missed the memo lol

Today Was My Due Date
I can't believe it, today would have been my due date. Now, it is not like I thought I would have ever made to my due date, it is really funny to think about it. Especially since Elsie will be 4 weeks old tomorrow.
She will be 4 weeks old and I still have not written my birth story...oops. Here is the short story: went to the hospital 4 weeks early and had my baby. done lol
Elsie is doing great, and Cora is a great big sister. She just has to work on "do nice" since right now she thinks it means smack your sister in the face.
When I look at the two of them together, it really makes me think of my sisters. I hope the girls grow up like my sisters and I did. We are all pretty close, even now as adults. It makes me smile that I was able to give Cora a sister.

What a difference a year makes!
These pictures were taken 1 year apart - at one month and 13 months old. I can't believe how much Cora has grown.
We are going to do the same for Elsie - maybe with a different prop though.

Pumpkin Patch :)
We went to a Fall Festival at a local farm. It was fun, lots of kid's stuff to do. We attempted to take a family shot (taken by someone else) and that was a huge fail.
So, we then tried to take a pic of just the kids. This is the first time we tried this outside of the ones at the hospital.
Yeah, not such a good idea. Colin looks great. But, look closer - Lil J is choking Cora, and Cora has her fingers in Elsie's eye. LOL
But - it is also one of the BEST pics - I have my kids, all FOUR of them! Four years ago, I would never have thought that this would be my family pic. :)

Bonding Evaluation - fost/adopt
As part of the adoption process, we are required to go through a bonding evaluation with Lil J. I really don't understand all the processes, since his mother also had to do a bonding eval.
As of now, he is NOT going to be returned to his mother, so not sure why a bonding eval is even needed for her. But, whatever. We do whatever the court order states.
I did a bunch of google searches about the bonding eval, since I really wanted to be prepared for this. I really did not find anything, so I thought I would post about it here.
The eval took place in one of the visitation rooms at the local office. We were told ahead of time that it would take about 1-2 hours.
The eval was Lil J, me and my husband, and of course the "dr" - who I assume was psychologist.
He asked each of us a series of questions, silly questions if you ask me. Things that are in our file. After the fact, I realized that all the questions are questions that everyone has an answer to. And, they are simple enough that you never have to think about the answer.
The questions were things like: where we grew up, where we went to school (HS and college); what our majors were, where we worked (last 2 jobs); how many siblings we have; if our parents are still together; what our parents do for work; who lives in our house, and their age; if we were ever arrested; treated for depression; have anger issues; stuff like that.
The entire time we are answering questions, Lil J is either playing by himself, or playing with the other person.
And, since the questions were so easy to answer, of course the person answering questions is still interacting with Lil J. I guess that was the point of the "easy" questions.
After all the questions were answered, the Dr said that we could just play for a little while. So, we just took Lil J's lead and did what we would have done at home. Just played. Read stories, etc. The entire time, the Dr was taking notes. Who knows what he was writing, but I can't imagine anything bad. In my case, maybe he wrote that I did not get down on the floor. But, he also knew I JUST had a baby, with a C-section. So, I am sure he did not hold that against me LOL
All in all, it was pretty painless. It took about an hour. But, some of that was us just chatting.

500 posts!!!
I just went to make a new post and noticed that I had exactly 500 posts!!! Wow.
We had a great weekend, weather wise. I still can not drive, but lucky for us the park is right across the street from our house.
We took advantage of the nice weather and went to the park with the 3 little kids. It was Elsie's first time! She also had her first bath!

3 babies, 24 days
Two of my sisters were pregnant with me. And, we all had due dates very close to one another. Well, all have had their babies - my sister had her baby today
So, now my mom has 7 grandchildren. And what is funny about that is that she went from one grandchild (Colin) to 7 in less than 2 years! She now has 4 grandaughters, and 3 grandsons.
3 babies born in 24 days!
Anna was born on 9/9/10
Elsie was born on 9/23/10
Miles was born today on 10/3/10
Colin even pointed out that he went from being an only child, to having 2 siblings in 18 months. How is that for some interesting family math lol.
I think it will be so awesome to have the kids grow up so close in age.
